About the Sharks |
Established in July 2007, the Manchester Sharks
is the north of England's first gay and lesbian polo club. The team
has been around for some years now as a valued aspect to 'Northern wave
Swim club'. However, it was decided that the team would be better suited
running separate to Northern Wave, creating the birth of one of Manchester's
youngest gay sports clubs. |

Throughout the years the team has
grown from a few men, to a team of two quads, created a world wide reputation,
and hosted international tournaments.
Manchester Sharks for the first time this year have taken the ambitious
step and have entered a local league. However, we remain fully inclusive
club, and are open to anyone who is gay or even straight and wants to
give us a try. |

If you come to Miles Platting leisure centre at 7pm on a Thursday you'll be welcome to take part in the magic of water polo. You'll be encouraged to reach your goals an improve your capability regardless of your ability.
Manchester Sharks continues to improve. At the TIP Paris event in 2006, we came third, the first overseas medal the team has won. We are not all about winning medals, we are totally committed to building a women's team and founding the future of the club that adds value to the community |
